Region Meeting News

The Business Sustainable Workshop was held on Wednesday the 25th of February at the Dallas Arboretum. Keynote speaker Dr. Charles Hall from TAMU and Jim Albritton, Jerry McMahan, Mike Simpson, and Richard Stringer with SCORE (Service Corp of Retired Executives) provided valuable insight into how to succeed in the current economic downturn. Fifty different companies from all sectors of the Green Industry participated in the one day workshop, which included a panel discussion, breakout sessions and the keynote presentation from Dr. Hall. Special thanks to our sponsors, the Dallas Arboretum and the John Deere Company, for their generous support.

Region IV WaterWise Demonstration Garden Project

Beautiful landscapes and wise water management go together. Good horticultural practice includes putting the right plant in the right place, and providing only the minimum inputs such as water and feritlizer. The Region IV WaterWise Landscape Demonstration project at the Dallas Arboretum provides practical examples of how consumers can create a beautiful outdoor environment while addressing the important issue of water conservation.
